Here are some ideas of activities you can do outside that will benefit your wellbeing this summer:

Grow or pick food:

Try to create a space where you can grow plants or herbs even if that is in a window box or plant pot. Plant vegetables in your garden or look for community gardens or allotments you can use. Go fruit picking at local sites, you could even try foraging.

Bring nature indoors:

Buy plants or flowers for your home or go collect natural materials. Try growing flowers or plants in your home on windowsills, take photos of your favourite places in nature and use them to decorate your home.

Do activities outdoors:
Go on walks in green spaces or near water sources, eat meals outdoors you could even arrange a picnic. Try doing some exercise outside or go out at night and watch the stars.

Do your bit to help the environment:

You could volunteer on a local conservation project or go on a litter picking walk. Plant helpful seeds or build an animal habitats to support local wildlife.

Connect with animals:

Watch out for wildlife, visit a local community farm, try birdwatching or you could even set up a birdfeeder outside your home.

Use these five ways to boost your wellbeing while being outside this Summer;

Give- give back to your local community through protecting and nurturing nature by planting trees, litter picking, welcoming wildlife and conserving water.

Learn- learn in and about the natural environment. Get an understanding of how to protect and care for nature.

Be active- get active outdoors as this has additional benefits to your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Take notice- try to be more aware of your surroundings as noticing nature and its beauty creates positive feelings.
